Delayed Delivery
When a baby is allowed to be in distress too long, often resulting in a lack of oxygen, it?s called a ?delayed delivery.? Delayed deliveries can cause severe birth injuries, such as damage to the brain and cerebral palsy.
Some of the questions to ponder in cases of delayed delivery and possible malpractice include:
- Did your medical team recognize and react to your baby?s distress during labor?
- Was the labor and delivery department fully staffed? (If not, this could be hospital negligence.)
- Did your doctor arrive quickly to handle your delivery?
- Did your doctor fail to calculate your baby?s size correctly?
